G-H-R-P six
One of the earliest GH-releasing peptides — effective but causes strong hunger due to ghrelin receptor activation.
Also known as: GHRP-6, Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 6
Last reviewed: April 2026
GHRP-6 stimulates growth hormone release through the ghrelin receptor. It's one of the first generation of GH peptides. Effective for GH stimulation but produces significant hunger and cortisol elevation compared to newer options like ipamorelin.
Injection into belly fat
Frequency
2–3 times daily
Pain Level
●○○ Minimal
Self-Administered
Yes — at home
Typical Range
100mcg – 300mcg
Immediately
Strong hunger within 20 minutes of injection.
Month 1–3
GH-mediated body composition changes.
Overall: Mild
Intense hunger
Much stronger appetite increase than ipamorelin.
Cortisol elevation
Unlike ipamorelin, GHRP-6 raises cortisol.
Water retention
Fluid retention from GH effects.
• Diabetes
• Active cancer
• Pregnancy
• Insulin — GH affects blood sugar
• Glucocorticoids — complex interaction
Pregnancy: Not studied. Avoid.
First-generation GH peptide. Ipamorelin is preferred due to selectivity (no cortisol/prolactin increase, less hunger). GHRP-6 is stronger but 'dirtier.'
Ipamorelin
A selective growth hormone releaser that works through the 'hunger hormone' pathway — clean GH stimulation with fewer side effects.
Hexarelin
The most potent GH-releasing peptide — also has unique heart-protective properties, but causes desensitization with chronic use.
